European Soundmakers is a unified European voice for musical instruments, music-making and craftsmanship.
The European Soundmakers – Musical Instrument Confederation is an independent European umbrella organisation representing the musical instrument and equipment industries as well as the associated craftsmanship sectors. We bring together national associations and stakeholders from across Europe to speak with one voice, to strengthen cooperation and help shape sustainable framework conditions for the industry.
Who We Are
European Soundmakers is a non-profit European trade confederation founded in October 2025 under French law by leading national associations from across Europe. The founding members represent the full diversity of the musical instrument ecosystem – from manufacturers and distributors to wholesalers, retail music stores, publishers and also the associated craftsmanship sectors.
We act as a legally autonomous, pan-European platform that respects the independence and sovereignty of all national associations while enabling strategic exchange and joint action at a European level.
Our work is grounded in core European values: democracy, freedom, diversity, mutual respect and openness. We explicitly reject all forms of extremism and promote an inclusive environment in which all individuals are respected equally, regardless of background, gender identity, origin, belief, age, sexual orientation or disability.
